Something to “Squawk” About!

By December 21, 2010No Comments

Running Pony helped shine a national spotlight on a major corporation and a hometown hero.

CNBC was live and local from Memphis early Monday morning. The cable business network’s early morning program “Squawk Box” originated from FedEx hanger 26, with FedEx founder, chairman, president and CEO Fred Smith joining Joe Kernen and Carl Quintanilla as co-anchor.

The logistics of the early-morning shoot meant several members of the RPP staff spent much of Sunday helping to turn a gigantic airplane hanger into a TV studio.  How big?  The hanger is big enough to hold one of FedEx’s Boeing 777 cargo planes – the “Triple 7” is the world’s largest twinjet!  The RPP team was back out very early on Monday to act as crew during the program. When CNBC and FedEx needed a hand, Running Pony was there to deliver!

Operations Manager Steve Shipowitz got some shots during the telecast – take a look!
